PSYCHOTHERAPY
Bodycenter Psychotherapy
Drawing from a wide range of psychotherapeutic techniques, bodymind therapy provides a person with
the opportunity to discuss life issues from a place of mindfulness. This approach provides a person
with the capacity to manage stress well, to problem-solve effectively, and instill trust in others.
It combines looking at the body and mind as subsystems of each other and the impact they have on each
other. In it most basic form it helps a client establish harmony throughout the whole system.
Internal Family Systems Therapy
"Internal family systems psychotherapy is an approach that applies systems thinking and family
therapy technique to intrapsychic process. It conceives if the mind as an inner family of
subpersonalities or "parts" that form alliances and polarizations, just as "external" families
do. It helps a client assess his or her Self- a core of valuable leadership resources- and work
with parts from that kind of compassion and perspective."
Richard C. Schwartz, Phd.
The state of "being in Self" or " mindfulness," as in Buddhist precepts, provides a person
with the capacity to manage stress well, to problem-solve effectively, and to instill trust
in others. A client in this state also has the ability to de-polarize conflicts within the
family or organization and to establish balance and harmony throughout the entire system.
Traditional Psychotherapy
Traditional counseling is an opportunity to examine issues within the privacy of a
psychotherapeutic session. Individual counseling provides "therapeutic intimacy" to discuss
relationship issues, childhood issues, or problems surfacing due to employment, career or
personal life changes. If you are coping with feelings of depression or anxiety, it may become
difficult to maintain work, school or family commitments. During times of stress, we sometimes
misuse or abuse alcohol or other substances, find ourselves overeating or engaging in other
destructive behaviors. Learning healthier coping strategies and facing confusing and often
conflicting feelings can be positive steps towards living a healthier and happier life.
WELLNESS EDUCATION
Classes and lectures by experts in the areas of fitness, longevity and personal empowerment; and
costumized programs of lifestyle and health services and workshops coordinated by a program adviser.
These educational programs are the key to understanding and reducing stress, promoting greater
health, and developing balance in everyday life. In addition to these classes, private lifestyle
consultations are available to help clients stabilize their goals and achieve optimal health.
TESTIMONALS
"I owe much of the smooth progress of my cancer radiation treatments to Mari's life-affirming,
gentle manner and well planned, well executed treatments. Her firm, confident approach and steady
reassurance throughout each session helped me get through a time that might, otherwise, have had
me jumping out of my skin. My oncologist reports that I'm at the top of his patients for general
wellness through the eight weeks of radiation. Mari played a huge role in that."

graceful art form. As a professional, Mari exhibits a warm, attentive, and patient attitude in
her treatment space as well as our professional circle. It is a priviledge to have her as a
friend and teacher."
